The Challenge
Autism awareness has grown in recent years, but there’s still a long way to go in breaking down stereotypes, amplifying autistic voices, and addressing the real-life challenges faced by the community. Many conversations remain surface-level, overlooking the lived experiences, talents, and struggles of autistic individuals — especially in areas like education, employment, independence, and inclusion in the arts.
Anna Kennedy OBE, one of the UK’s most well-known autism campaigners, and Olivia Slatter, autistic advocate, classical musician, and founder of Olivia’s World, recognised this gap. Both saw the need for a platform that could combine national advocacy with deeply personal storytelling — creating a space where honest, impactful, and empowering conversations could thrive.
Our Approach
By joining forces, Anna and Olivia bring two unique yet complementary perspectives. Olivia shares her life on the spectrum through her music, activism, and personal journey, while Anna offers wisdom and authenticity from her experience as a mother to two autistic sons and leader of a global autism charity.
Their monthly podcast, part of Olivia’s World, invites a new guest each episode to share their autism journey. Together, they speak openly about the challenges, celebrate neurodiversity, and inspire listeners to take action. This isn’t just about raising awareness — it’s about creating real change, fostering understanding, and ensuring autistic voices are heard and valued.
